Book Fair Visit
Make sure to visit the Scholastic Book Fair with your prek child
to pick out some really great books!
Pocket Chart Station
We added a new station today... the Pocket Chart Station!
BUT... we need everyone's help.
We are asking all the children to cut out labels from their favorite food
to bring in to add to our pocket chart area!
For right now, we have " I Like To Eat" but soon we will be adding
"I Like To Play" so if you have any labels from games/toys etc. that would be great
if you could save them for me!
Awesome Authour
Levi was our first Awesome Author today!
In the writing station, he wrote a Halloween story.
Our classroom authors will be writing stories and then
putting them into our Authors Basket.
Once the author reads their story to the class, he/she will be able to bring
their story home to share.
Then, the author should bring back their story,
along with the letter explaining Awesome Author, and we will
place your child's story in their portfolio!

Congrats!
Congrats to Levi and his family for welcoming his new baby brother into the world!
You are an awesome big brother Levi!
Mother and baby are doing well and we wish them all, the best of luck with
their new little one!
October 13, 2011!
We practiced using our 'inventive spelling' today!
We wrote /Aa/ words on the SmartBoard!
During our 'writers workshop', we colored a picture and wrote about
what we like to do with our siblings for our Family Book.
Some of us who don't have any siblings, wrote about what we think
we would like to do with a brother or sister if we had one!
We circled all the /Aa/ words on our SmartBoard!

Second Step
In today's Second Step lesson we played ' if- then' using our friends' names to think about how we would feel in a situation. For example, If Will walks in the rain, he would feel wet. We also used the picture below to talk about how each child was feeling and how they could both feel happy playing together.
