We talked about three more feelings during Second Step today. We began by playing a game called "Is and Not". The feelings we discussed were surprised, afraid and disgusted. We looked at picture cards to determine how the children in the photographs were feeling. We discussed how their faces and bodies looked and why they might be feeling that way. We also had a chance to practice making our faces and bodies look like those feelings in the photographs. Our friends are learning empathy by participating in the Second Step activities.
Concept- Situational cues also help in the identification of others' feelings.
Objective- Children will be able to name surprised, afraid, and disgusted when presented with physical, verbal and situational cues for these emotions.
